2014 is a blessed year for fashion because it was flagged off with many fashion trends that had not yet been hyped in Uganda like the return of the jean tops, Kneated skirts and dresses, Hi-lows and the grand return of Lace.
I caught up with most of these trends but my favourite is lace, it’s light, easily lets in air. Basically there is nothing wrong with wearing lace in our humid temperatures. For a long time designers have been shying away from incorporating lace into their designs leaving it mainly in the lingerie industry, bridal and party designing.
But currently all shops in Kampala are donning this new trend and it is easy to get caught up in the lace web. Only that the one lingering question I had was how to incorporate it into my work wear.
Because in as much of an office trendsetter Iam, lace is quite revealing and sometimes tricky to add to office wardrobe if it’s not one piece.
But here are some of the tricks I use to tone it down
If you don’t like being gawked at by male colleagues at work, you might as well want to wear a non lace designed jacket over that lace top.
